NOW THAT'S FUNNY
The MTV show “Snooki and JWoww” has been renewed for a third season … but where to film it? Though Snooki had planned to stay on Pelican Island for part of her summer, and film the show there, residents of that community are getting ready to block her from doing so.
Snooki has a reputation for drunk and disorderly conduct, because, well, she has been drunk and disorderly. She may have settled down since having her baby last year, but she still creates a scene where ever she goes because of her fan base.
Homeowners on Pelican Island -- which includes parts of Berkeley Township and Toms River – have been strategizing about how to keep Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from filming her show there. The town currently has no law that requires a permit for filming, reports nj.com. The Council has met with a lawyer, and may act to change that.
Feelings are strong. The town does not want the additional traffic and gawking that Snooki brings. Council President James Byrnes told residents that he would do anything to stop the filming, saying ““I’ll camp out on the freaking street if I have to.” Sounds
like he and Snooki would actually get along great.
Residents are still rebuilding from Hurricane Sandy damage, and a large part of the island is still vacant. The homeowners say they don’t want the additional traffic and attention brought to their quiet community while they’re trying to rebuild.
Another reason they may not want her: her temper. When Snooki heard that Pelican Island was trying to keep her away, she let loose. "Adults are trying to ban my son, fiancé and I from enjoying our summer at the shore. Grow up, get over yourself and move on. This is not how we should be treating one another. Absolutely sick and very sad. I pray for you. There's much bigger things to worry about in life than trying to ban my family from your neighborhood."
Snooki says she has reformed her partying ways and, instead, is focusing on health and working out. She is still super tan, though. Maybe the residents can write an ordinance against that.
