The media blitz of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will continue on Tuesday night/early Wednesday when the governor makes an appearance on NBC's "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

The Associated Press reports that Christie used Twitter to invite the late-night comedian to get a personal tour of the state. Christie then made fun of Fallon's version of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run."

The pair have been waging a war of tweets ever since Christie canceled the ARC rail tunnel that would have linked New Jersey with New York City. According to NorthJersey.com, when that happened, Fallon joked on his show that people would to get to the Garden State they way they normally did, "by accident."

In response, Christie tweeted an invitation to Fallon to visit New Jersey and get a personal tour. Then Christie made fun of Fallon's version of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run."

Politico.com reported that Christie's tweets read: @jimmyfallon Heard your joke about NJ last night. Why dont u come across the river on purpose and I'll give u a tour.

Then he got his own shot in at Fallon for his Bruce Springsteen-homage opening sketch at the Emmys: @jimmyfallon Consider this is a formal invite. By the way — nice attempt at Born to Run but Bruce does it better.

Christie spokesman Michael Drewniak said the tweets created the appearance, but wouldn't give any more details about exactly how the appearance came about or what viewers could expect on the show.

Note to the governor: You might want to point out to Jimmy that the Scottish-Conan guy is funnier.
