Got a beef with Governor Christie? Whether they’re right or wrong, a lot of people do. People around the country who are unhappy with the way their government is running are taking matters into their own hands these days.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors of Southern California voted unanimously to allow County Supervisor Jeff Stone to convene a statewide meeting about the formation of "South California."

The word of the day is “secede.” Stone has proposed that as many as 13 southern counties secede from California.

Stone seems to want to separate California’s more liberal coast from its conservative interior. According to the International Business Times, Arizona liberals are looking for a ballot measure to turn its Pima County into a state known as Baja Arizona.

Meanwhile, many conservatives still want to re-establish the Texas Secessionist Movement. To show that they can take care of the national debt problem, the Movement is missing its own currency. According to Houston Conservative Examiner, The republic of Texas has created its own medallions consisting of copper, silver and gold medallions.

Locally, people may remember that last year, the Press of Atlantic City reported the Citizens for Strathmere and Whale Beach said their community wanted to secede from the mainland portion of the township and join Sea Isle City. The group's efforts were denied.

Stone said that Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa and Mono counties would form South California. He is now seeking financial support from corporations.
