During a turbulent period of conference realignment and expansion, the Big Ten Conference hasn’t been making too much noise since they added Nebraska.
According to the New York Daily News, some reports say the Big Ten may add Notre Dame and Texas by 2014. Notre Dame reportedly turned down offers to join the Big Ten last year and in 2006.
Texas A&M was invited to join the Southeastern Conference, and other big name schools seem to be looking elsewhere. Would Rutgers really be a bad choice for the Big Ten Conference?
Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports believes that Rutgers could be a Big Ten candidate, but only if they brought company with them.
Bleacher Report believes the choice of Rutgers is risky because they haven’t done well against quality competition, and says they wouldn’t add to the strength of the conference.
