Kadeem Jack will have to wait a bit longer to make his collegiate debut.
Rutgers redshirt freshman forward will have surgery this week to take care of an injury he sustained during a preseason workout last Friday (October 7) head coach Mike Rice announced Tuesday. Jack is expected to miss about three to four months.
"Kadeem has worked extremely hard in preparation for the season,” Rice said in a statement released by the school. “He will remain very much involved in all team activities and we look forward to his complete recovery.”
The Queens, N.Y. native enrolled in Rutgers this past January after a semester of prep school. He was expected to have a major role in beefing up the Scarlet Knights front court this season. Freshman Derrick Randell and Greg Lewis are the likely candidates to fill that role.
