An area of low pressure in the Tennessee River Valley and a developing warm front over the southern Mid Atlantic will move towards and through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas over the next 30 to 48 hours producing periods of rain, heavy at times.

The good news is that temperatures will be too warm for anything but rainfall for the entire region with temperatures ranging from the upper 30's to mid 40's for lows and mid 40's to mid 50's for highs today and tomorrow. However, the overcast skies and periods of moderate to heavy rain will make for raw and wet weather conditions. Rainfall amounts today on through tomorrow afternoon with range from one to two inches with locally higher amounts. The rain will be scattered in nature through this afternoon but then increase in coverage this evening. Rainfall is expected to be widespread tonight with the heaviest rainfall late tonight on through late tomorrow morning.

The low pressure system will exit towards southern New England tomorrow evening with clearing skies and colder temperatures. As skies clear and winds shift to the northwest at 5 to 10 mph, temperatures will fall into the mid 20's to mid 30's for lows for Thanksgiving morning.

Dry yet chilly weather conditions are expected for Thanksgiving with high pressure in complete control. Temperatures will rise into the upper 40's to mid 50's for highs.

High pressure will remain in control for the rest of the holiday weekend with moderating temperatures. Under the influence of clear skies and light winds, temperatures will range from the mid 20's to upper 30's for lows and lower 50's to lower 60's for highs.

A strong area of low pressure will bring periods of moderate to heavy rain on Monday and Tuesday with cool temperatures. Temperatures will range from the lower to upper 30's for lows and mid 40's to mid 50's for highs.
