Stops at Solix Inc. and Wyndham Worldwide in Parsippany
Acting Gov. Kim Guadagno on Wednesday visited Solix Inc. and the Wyndham Worldwide Corp. in Parsippany where she praised company officials for what she described as their commitment to Morris County and New Jersey.
The stops were billed as part of her “100 Business Tour” to visit businesses that are viewed as committed to staying in New Jersey.
“The two businesses I visited today may serve very different markets, but they have one thing in common: business ingenuity and a commitment to Morris County and New Jersey,” Guadagno said. “The Christie administration appreciates that commitment and pledges to do all it can to make New Jersey the best possible place to maintain and to grow a business.’’
Solix Inc. is a process outsourcing firm serving government and commercial clients. It provides its clients with administrative solutions, including fund distribution, grant administration, claims processing and compliance reviews. The company, which recently completed a 10,000 square-foot expansion of its headquarters, employs about 370 people.
“It’s important that government and business maintain a constructive dialogue and we’re happy that the lieutenant governor took the time to do it,’’ Solix CEO John C. Parry said.
Wyndham Worldwide is one of the world’s largest hospitality companies, encompassing almost 7,100 hotels in 65 countries under such names as Ramada, Days Inn, Super 8 and Travelodge. The company employs nearly 800 at its world headquarters.
Guadagno praised Wyndham Worldwide for its charitable endeavors, noting that the corporation supports a number of initiatives to benefit seriously ill and poor children.
“…We deeply appreciate the commitment the governor’s office has made to improving the business climate in New Jersey,” Wyndham Worldwide Executive Vice President Scott McLester said.
The goal of the “100 Business Tour” is to reinforce the pro-business position of the Christie administration. The Parsippany visits bring the number of companies Guadagno has visited this year to 39.
