Gov. Chris Christie will have dinner at the White House Sunday evening but he will have to return to Trenton on Monday.

The governor will be in Washington Saturday and Sunday to attend gatherings of the National Governors Association and the Republican Governors Association.

All of the governors who attend the NGA conference may attend the White House dinner hosted by President Obama.

On Saturday morning, Christie will take part in a NGA press conference at the JW Marriott. On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., the governor will appear on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” The White House dinner is set for 6 p.m.
