A Camden County man was sentenced to state prison Friday for directing the activities of drug dealers for the Nine Trey Headbustas set of the Bloods gang.
Faquir Williamson, 32, of Camden, was sentenced to 15 years, including 7 years of parole ineligibility, by state Superior Court Judge Samuel D. Natal in Camden. Williamson was charged as a result of an investigation into the criminal activities of the set in the Broadway area of Camden, state Criminal Justice Director Stephen J. Taylor said. Williamson pleaded guilty to first-degree racketeering on July 30.
Williamson admitted that he was an associate of the Bloods who supervised dealers who sold heroin for the Nine Trey Headbustas. He admitted that he agreed that members of the gang would utilize violence, if necessary, to protect them from other sellers invading their turf.
The charges were contained in a 2008 state grand jury indictment obtained by the Division of Criminal Justice. The indictment charged 15 members and associates of the Nine Trey Headbustas, including its two alleged top leaders, Michael Anderson, 37, who is in Trenton State Prison, and Juan Vargas, 26, of Philadelphia. Eleven defendants have pleaded guilty. Charges are pending against the others, including Anderson and Vargas. The indictment resulted from a joint investigation conducted by the Division of Criminal Justice and the High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Joint Camden Task Force.
The Nine Trey Headbustas gang, which has direct ties to Philadelphia, was dealing large quantities of heroin on Broadway Avenue and Stevens and Benson Streets in Camden.
Deputy Attorney General Jill Mayer prosecuted the case. Meyer, Sgt. Richard M. Carlin, and former Deputy Attorney General Christopher St. John coordinated the investigation for the Division of Criminal Justice Gangs & Organized Crime Bureau.
