The husband of Montville's 'real housewife' Teresa Giudice was sentenced to 10 days in jail last week for a drunk driving conviction in Towaco and turned himself in Monday morning.
According to Sgt Bill Karback with the Lincoln Park Police Department, Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice turned himself in at 9 a.m. after a judge ordered him to do jail time for driving with a suspended driver's license. He has been transferred to the Morris County Correctional Facility and is serving a 10-day sentence.
The New York Post reports that Giudice, 40, husband of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star, was sentenced by a judge last week and fined $1,000.
A Radaronline.com report says in January, Giudice was charged with driving under the influence after crashing his car into a telephone pole in Montville Township, New Jersey. He was taken to the hospital and then released to the police due to outstanding warrants. In March, he was fined $864, had his license revoked for 12 months, and was sentenced to 30 days of community service.
Lincoln Park Municipal Court Judge Andrew Wubbenhorst sentenced Giudice after he pleaded guilty to the driving with a suspended license charge. Wubbenhorst also imposed fines totaling $1,500 and suspended Giudice's license for a year, according to court records.According to NJ.com, police stopped Giudice on May 16 on Route 202 in Lincoln Park and charged him with having a license plate obstructed by a frame, along with driving with a suspended license. Wubbenhorst dismissed the license plate obstruction charge.
In August, Giudice had appeared before Superior Court Judge Philip Maenza to appeal the DWI sentence he received in March from Montville Judge Seth Davenport.
The drunk driving conviction was Giudice's first, and Davenport had imposed maximum penalties of a one-year loss of his driver's license, a $500 fine and 48 hours at the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center.
