There won’t be any shortage of high-profile commencement speakers at the Rutgers University schools this year.

Four notable people, including New Jersey native Jon Bon Jovi, have been approved by Rutgers to speak at the graduation ceremonies.

NBC New York reports that Bon Jovi will speak at the Rutgers University-Camden commencement at Susquehanna Bank Center on May 21. Bon Jovi will be joined there by criminal defense attorney Bryan Stevenson from the Equal Justice Initiative.

NJ.com reports that Bon Jovi will receive a Doctor of Letters at the ceremony, while Stevenson will be given at Doctor of Laws. Science guy Bill Nye, speaking at the Rutgers-New Brunswick commencement at High Points Solutions Stadium in Piscataway on May 17, is receiving an honorary Doctor of Science.

According to Rutgers.edu, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation president Earl Lewis will give remarks at the Rutgers-Newark commencement at the Prudential Center on May 18.

Lewis will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters at his address. NJ.com reports that Nye will be paid $35,000 for speaking, but it is not known if he will accept it. Rutgers said the other three speakers will not be paid a fee for their speeches.
