Being Scottish, does that mean I should veto everything the English want to do in my homeland. Centuries ago, they were known to have invaded, raped and pillaged over the Scottish border. However, that was centuries ago. Does it really have to take centuries before this world actually become global because if so, we are on a slow winding path. Allianz is already a global company and I do not doubt for one moment no one in this company today has any links whatsoever to the Third Reich (which I may add is now three or four generations down the road now). Sad indeed considering the crisis we all live in, yet the company is willing to stick millions of dollars to sponsor a stadium.
I agree, Allianz, in the thirties, collaborated in a mean fashion with the Nazi's against the perjudication of the Jews. Does that mean too, that because all the German's of today are offspring of German's in the thirties that they should not have an opportunity? Should all financial institutions be vetoed because of the criminal acts committed by CEO's to cause the worst depression since the time we are talking about?
I'm no Jew, nor I'm I being insensitive but I find the veto ridiculous and saddening. There's a time and a place. Move on.
