Thank you Roger Witherspoon for providing more than a rehash of Entergy press releases as the local reporter seems to do. Once again, the company notices an abnormality (bushing running hotter than usual) in a piece of machinery that has exploded at the other reactor at the same plant and ignores it, rather than assuming that it could be an issue and following up with the safer approach. Combine this with the company's history of misleading or lying statements (at IP and Vermont Yankee) and it is obvious that allowing an additional 20 years to operate an aging plant puts the most densely populated region of the country in danger. Additional danger comes from the overflowing spent fuel pools that have leaked for years and the stacking of dry casks full of high level wastes with half-lives of millennia while the casks are rated for 300 years. Bad idea, getting older and more dangerous every day.
