Job's health is important to people for a few reasons. First, he is an iconic businessman. Apple is a wonderful American company. If you don't think so, I would refer you to last years annual report (wow!!). It is an extremely well run business. We need people like Jobs having dinner with the President and give thoughts and input into the economy. The technology industry is always cutting edge and one needs to be "On one's Game" to stay ahead. That's what we need for the economy as a whole...On one's game. With that said, Mr. Tim Cook (COO) has and I'm sure will continue to do a great job at Apple in Job's absence. The company shined in Jobs last medical absence. Believe it or not Jobs health is also important with regards to the economy in its possible Wall St effects. AAPL is a "blue chip" tech company. Sectors tend to move together. A wavering AAPL stock may affect other tech stocks and therefore the market. With a fragile economy right now the last thing we need is another stock market crash. Whether you like it or not, whether you think its the whim of brokers or not, it is a fact of life in our capitalist economy.
