It is all too typical of this administration to expect us to believe that the " cumbersome management of the U.E.Z." is the reason the Governor seeks to eliminate the program. Fix the problem -Don't shoot the horse. Perhaps if Trenton did not insist that all the money that came in from the various U.E.Z. zones be distributed according to the discretion of Trenton ( like they really visit these towns to see what is going on), the management would be a lot less burdensome.
And the Governor must think we are all fools to think that this money grab is anything but that, a money grab. The collected monies are supposed to be returned to the towns that collected them to improve the town. If each town has not used that money, then perhaps that should be what is taken. But living in a municipality where those monies have been the keystone for a massive redevelopment and renaissance, I can tell you the U.E.Z. has not only done its work but has done it well.
The Governor can continue to mouth the words making New Jersey better for business. His actions call him a liar. Owning two businesses in New Jersey, I am taxed to death. Annual report tax, Corporate business tax and any other reason to squeeze another $50 dollars out of your hide to support a state government that misspends, misappropriates is sinful.
I do not wish Christie on NJ and I certainly do not wish him on the United States. But then again I guess all the multi millionaires like him.
