This has been just awful. We were lucky enough to get our power back yesterday afternoon, which was about seven days too late, quite frankly. Customer service reps at JCP&L told us every night we called that we would have power by midnight that night; imagine our disappointment when we woke up to a dark house with no running water day after day. Thank God we had a generator, though it wasn't hooked up to our well...I can't imagine how awful this has been for people without one. The only information JCP&L was able to give all week was inaccurate and misleading. Case in point: On Friday night, the number of houses without power in our town was 13 according to the JCP&L website. Nevermind that on our street and the one adjacent there were over 30 houses total without power. What a bunch of garbage.
My heart seriously goes out to the folks in New Jersey who are still without power. It's just too much. I hope the utility companies are taking Governor Christie's words to heart and that power is restored tonight.
