The Powerball lottery’s new rule changes have already brought a $336.4 million jackpot in 2012, but the Mega Millions prize up for grabs on Friday night is anything but small change.

After going through 10 drawings without a winner, the jackpot for the Mega Millions lottery drawing on March 2 has risen to $108 million, with a cash option prize of $79 million, according to the Mega Millions website.

The game’s last jackpot winner was Marcia Adams, 33, of Georgia, who claimed $72 million in the Jan. 24 drawing.

The winning numbers for the Mega Millions lottery of February 28 were: 6, 15, 29, 39, 51, and the Mega Ball was 36. According to delawareonline.com, four tickets matched the first five numbers without the Mega Ball to win $250,000, none of them coming from New Jersey.

Philly.com reported that a New Jersey player from Camden County won $408,337 in a Jersey Cash 5 drawing on Monday, February 27. The ticket was purchased at Kresson News in Gibbsboro.

The Pennsylvania Lottery recently announced some changes- to its advertising campaign. According to philly.com, Gus, "the second most famous groundhog in Pennsylvania," will no longer be peddling the lottery's instant tickets.

Gus reminded players to “Keep on scratching,” for about eight years and more than fifty commercials. Lottery spokeswoman Allison Roberts said the commercials with Gus cost $300,000 to $400,000, while ads without him were closer to $250,000.

New commercials begin in March.
