There were no winning tickets in the Powerball drawing on Saturday night, so the Powerball jackpot will be rising to $107 million for the Wednesday, September 7 drawing. The cash option prize will be $64.2 million.

Delawareonline.com reports that six tickets matched all five numbers without the Powerball, none of them coming from New Jersey. One of those tickets, with the Power Play option, was worth $1 million.

The Powerball Lottery has had some really big jackpots so far this year, and it’s time they fell in our area. Wednesday’s drawing marks the sixth time the Powerball jackpot has climbed above $100 million in 2011. According to Powerball.com, Thomas Morris of Minnesota took this year’s biggest Powerball prize of $228,900,000 on August 10.

Groups of players have had success playing in lotteries. A group of 20 Costco workers just won $201.9 million in a Powerball drawing back in June. It’s always wise to cover all your bases in a group, like distributing ticket printouts and having the terms specified ahead of time.

An Ohio man is suing 22 of his co-workers for not offering him a share of a $99 million Mega Millions jackpot. According to Lottery Post, Hairston says that for eight years he was in a lottery pool with co-workers at the KraftMaid company in Middlefield. He was unable to give in June, July, and August due to being out with a back injury.

But the group picked the winning numbers for the Mega Millions drawing of Aug. 5, earning each member about $2 million after taxes. When Hairston showed up to claim a share of the winnings, the lawsuit says he was told he was out of the group for missing three months worth of payments.
