The Powerball lottery has not been won since June 23, and the jackpot continues to move upward.
No one won the multi-state lottery game for the eleventh straight time on Wednesday night, so the jackpot prize for Saturday, Aug. 4 is an estimated $181 million, with a cash option value of $123 million.
According to delawareonline.com, the winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, Aug. 1 were 3,16, 48, 56, and 58, and the Powerball was 4. The Power Play multiplier was 5.
Five tickets had the first five numbers without matching the Powerball to win second prize of $1 million. Lottery Post reported that 26 tickets matched four of the white numbers along with the Powerball to win $10,000.

Elsewhere, a story from the United Kingdom shows that some big lottery jackpot winners are still willing to share their wealth where it’s needed. Colin and Chris Weir of Ayrshire, Scotland were able to win Britain’s largest–ever lottery jackpot, worth $252 million in American dollars, in EuroMillions about a year ago.
The men heard the story of 13-year old Kieran Maxwell, who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Ewings Sarcoma, and had his left leg amputated below the knee in March last year. According to Mail Online, Maxwell fell while carrying the Olympic torch last month in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, because of his artificial leg being so heavy.
Lottery Post reported that the family was trying to raise the money to buy Kieran a lighter leg from the United States, but the Weirs put up a five-figure donation and bought his leg outright.
