Apparently, what stays in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas for one man who decided to try his luck at a Triple Bypass Burger.
That’s one of the Heart Attack Grill’s most requested meals in the Nevada hot spot. Now it appears the man suffered a coronary after eating the fatty burger last Saturday, making national headlines.
The restaurant is modeled after the original Heart Attack Grill in Arizona, which operates just outside Phoenix and is infamous for serving-up high-fat meals that can total more than 8,000 calories a sitting.
The Quadruple Bypass Burger meal totals a whopping 8,000 calories.
No worries. You can save a couple thousand calories on the Triple Bypass Burger, which is listed at just 6,000 calories.
The Heart Attack Grill made headlines last year when its 575 pound, 29 year old spokesperson, Blair River, died from pneumonia, according to mnn.com.
Marketing for the Heart Attack Grill is quite obvious. Its staff is comprised of young, scantily cad waitresses dressed in nurses’ uniforms.
It was one of those "nurses" who told owner Jon Basso, who calls himself “Doctor Jon” and wears a white lab coat, that the customer was in distress.
"He was having the sweats and shaking," so-called "Nurse" Bridgett told Las Vegas television station, KVUU.
Paramedics rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he is reportedly recovering. His name has not been released.
At the height of the commotion, some customers even thought the scene may have been a joke and took photographs.
"I actually felt horrible for the gentleman because the tourists were taking photos of him as if it were some type of stunt," Basso told KVUU.
