Who says there are no new jobs being created? A few New Jersey communities aren’t interested in having Snooki and J-Woww film in their areas, but at least one is hiring help for an environmental project.

Seaside Park is looking into bringing in a team of goats to eliminate a patch of poison ivy on its bayshore.

The community is not able to remove the poison ivy with chemicals or by burning it because the area overlooks Barnegat Bay, according to an Associated Press report on ajc.com.

Officials from the town estimated it would take 15 to 18 goats about three weeks to eat the poison ivy, according to CBS Philly. Councilman Michael Tierney said the areas of poison ivy were on grassy sections between Bay View Avenue and the bay.

Dawn Yurkiewicz of Stratford Farm in Whiteford, Maryland studied the project, and may lease her goats to Seaside Park.

“I think it’s stopping people from going to the bay side,” Tierney told The Asbury Park Press about the poison ivy. “We want people to walk along the bay without worrying.”

Borough Administrator Bob Martucci and Larry Ragonese from the Department of Environmental Protection expressed concerns that the goats may eat rare plants along the bay along with the poison ivy. Each one of the goats can eat nearly 8 pounds of weeds a day, according to Yurkiewicz.
