An alleged image of the corpse of Osama bin Laden is a composite of bin Laden and that of a bloodied man that has been circulating online for two years.
According to the Telegraph, the photoshopped image shows that photos of the corpse have not yet been made public.
The bloodied image of a man with matted hair and a blank, half-opened eye has been seen on the internet for two years. The image had already been posted on the front pages of the Mail, Times, Telegraph, Sun and Mirror websites. The pictures have been taken down from all of the news agencies.
Occupied Palestine reports the fake picture was initially published by Middle East online newspaper themedialine.org, with a warning from the editor that it was “unable to ascertain whether the photo is genuine or not”.
According to examiner.com, ABC's Good Morning America reported that the death photos of Osama Bin Laden were too graphic to air on television since there was so much blood and brain matter involved. And TMZ reports that an official has told CNN that REAL photos of bin Laden’s corpse do exist and he has a gunshot wound to the side of his head. The official says bin Laden's face is "unrecognizable."
