Mark Burnett, the Producer of this year’s Emmy Awards, has the job of making the broadcast move at a swift pace. The idea would be to entertain the audience in under four hours, preferably.

The host of this year’s ceremony is Jane Lynch, who plays cheerleader coach Sue Sylvester on Fox’s hit series “Glee.” Lynch won an Emmy last season for outstanding supporting actress in a comedy.

According to CBS News, Lynch is nominated in the same category this year, along with Betty White ("Hot in Cleveland"), Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family"), Julie Bowen ("Modern Family"), Jane Krakowski, a New Jersey native from Parsippany ("30 Rock") and Kristin Wiig ("Saturday Night Live"). Experts favor White or Vergara to win.

"Glee" is also among the nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series, but "Modern Family" is predicted to be the winner.

TV academy chairman John Shaffner told the Vancouver Sun that the show will move quicker this year because the made-for-television movie and miniseries categories have been combined into one listing because there weren’t enough contenders this season.

According to stltoday.com, Burnett plans to have "a very, very funny open," and include shorter bits to keep the show moving, and some short spoof film pieces. Burnett also said the “in memoriam” segment will be done differently.

Fox News reported that critics enjoyed the 2010 Emmys hosted by Jimmy Fallon, which featured a song-and-dance number with the "Glee" cast, Tina Fey, among others.

Examiner.com reported that a photo of the “Jersey Shore” cast posing with Jane Lynch circulated on Thursday. Several cast members of Jersey Shore are expected to appear on the broadcast.

Someone appears excited about the possibilities. Last week Snooki, who is barely taller than the statues, tweeted, "Look at us with Jane Lynch/Sue Sylvester, so awesome. She's amazing! Can't wait for Sunday!"

A complete list of Emmy nominations can be found here.

The 63rd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards can be seen on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 8:00 p.m., live on FOX.
