Having conquered the world of evil through magic, author J.K. Rowling recently announced that Harry Potter will be taking on the world of e-books.
Pottermore will be used to sell e-books directly to consumers, advancing right by the major e-book stores. Rowling's e-books are expected to be compatible with any electronic reading device.
The Financial Times reports that digital audio versions of Rowling’s Harry Potter books are currently available on Apple iTunes, but will be removed and sold solely on Pottermore when it opens for book sales in October, and ends Rowling’s audio sales contract with Apple.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Rowling will test her Pottermore website on July 31. All seven Harry Potter novels will be available as e-books in multiple languages. She says she has over 18,000 words of additional content, and plans to write even more for the site.

Pottermore allows Harry Potter readers to join one of the Hogwarts wizardry school's four houses and travel virtually through the first Harry Potter book.
During their trip, members find extra material from Rowling. Tuaw.com explains that when visitors are sorted into a house, they will go to a common room and learn information that's specific to the story role they have taken. A different role gives them a different part of the story.
