New Jersey native Nick Jonas, fresh off a Labor Day weekend vacation in Mexico with his 26-year old girlfriend Delta Goodrem, was teasing his fans on Twitter earlier this week when he posted that he was about to share a big announcement.

According to Us Magazine, the couple was seen in Los Cabos clearly enjoying their time together over the holiday, leading some to believe that Jonas was going to announce that the two were engaged.

But the 18-year old Jonas, who was raised in Wyckoff, announced on Wednesday that he will be coming home to Broadway in January 2012. Lime Life reports he will be playing J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

Goodrem had just split from fiancé Brian McFadden, 31, who formerly sang with Westlife, in April after a seven-year relationship. Jonas has dated Miley Cyrus from June 2006 to December 2007.

E Online reported that Goodrem performed two songs on “Dancing With the Stars” in May, and she has had eight number one singles in Australia. Goodrem’s web site says she is the Artist of the Decade in Australia having sold more albums in the last ten years than any other artist in Australia locally and internationally, despite being only 26.

She also is a cancer survivor. Goodrem beat Hodgkin's lymphoma when she was 18, after dealing with eight months of chemotherapy and two months of radiotherapy, which made her lose her hair.
