New Jersey fans of Style Network's "Clean House" can go to one of the show's yard sales, which is being filmed for the home-makeover program, Saturday in Wayne.
The sale will take place at the gym of Our Lady of Consolation Church, 1799 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday. The public is invited.
The popular reality TV show has been in Wayne this week filming at the cluttered home of Bill and Christine Benedict, who asked the "Clean House" crew for help.
Christine was diagnosed with cancer in 2007, and her home became an unmanageable mess during the period that she underwent successful treatment at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston. Her medical procedures and recovery took 18 months.
In "Clean House" the program's clean-up-and-renovation team comes in and helps families, whose homes are huge messes, to get rid of their piled up junk. The items that the families agree to dispose of are sold at a yard sale, which is presided over by "Yard Sale Diva" Trish Suhr. The proceeds of the Benedict's yard sale will be used to pay for a makeover of three rooms of their home. "Clean House" matches up to $1000 of the yard-sale proceeds to help pay for the makeover.
The "Clean House" episode featuring the Benedicts will air in either May or June as part of the show's "Search For The Messiest Home In The Country" series of shows.
