Potential 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump released his own birth certificate to the world this past week and challenged President Barack Obama to show his. But the document Trump released was a certificate issued by the hospital where he was born, not a legal birth certificate issued by New York City's Department of Health.
Trump's mother was born in Scotland and he has a plane registered in the Bahamas.
Polls indicate that the far left can only dream of gaining the attention among Democrats that the birthers appear to be exerting in the Grand Old Party.
Slate.com reports two schools of birtherism have developed since 2008. Orthodox Birthers believe that Obama cannot be eligible for the presidency. They trust evidence they find online—an erroneous report about "Obama's grandmother" saying he was born in Kenya, for example—which stays online forever. If that evidence is challenged, they look to theories about what the founders thought "natural born citizenship" meant. Phil Berg, the attorney who filed the first birther lawsuits, says Obama lost his citizenship because a school form from Indonesia calls him Indonesian. Another theory says Obama can't be president because his father was Kenyan and that made his son a British citizen by default.
Trump is pushing Reform Birtherism, the theory that Obama is hiding something about his birth documents. "There's something on that birth certificate that he doesn't like," said Trump last week.
According to a report in the Pocono Record, doubters of Obama's citizen birth now make up a majority of voters who say they're likely to participate in a Republican primary next year, according to a survey in February.

Some 51 percent say they don't think the president was born in the United States, against 28 percent who believe that he was.
That's an increase in GOP birtherism since August 2009. Back then 44 percent of Republicans said they thought Obama was born outside the country and 36 percent said that they thought he was born here.
Against those numbers, potential candidate, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, responded to Trump's stance. "I, for one, do not believe Republican candidates should be raising that issue," he said.
Even House Speaker John Boehner said in a television interview that he believes Obama, and he also said, "It's not my job to tell the American people what to think."
Questions about Obama's birth certificate were raised during the 2008 Democratic primaries. But as doubts faded over time among Democrats, they appear to have increased among Republicans.
Wednesday Trump spoke with conservative Fox News pundit Bill O'Reilly about Obama's citizenship.
O'Reilly, however, pointed out that a number of journalists - himself included - had thoroughly investigated the theory that Obama was not born in the United States, before putting the issue aside due to a lack of evidence.
Noting that Obama's birth announcement ran in two Hawaiian newspapers, CBS News reported that O'Reilly argued faking his place of birth would be "impossible to make happen" — and derided the idea that there had been a "sophisticated conspiracy" to fabricate Mr. Obama's early history.
"His mother was a hippie; his father was a guy from Kenya who split...What is he? Baby Jesus?" O'Reilly joked. "There was a sophisticated conspiracy to smuggle this baby back into the country?"
O'Reilly, remained unconvinced that Trump truly believed his own argument.
"You get a lot of attention raising the question, but I don't think you believe it," he said.

Obama himself published it in his book.. In 1995. That's 13 years before his inauguration. I'm sure many on this site vociferously pointed that fact out to them during the campaign, in case they missed it.
Yet still Obama was allowed to run for president. What kind of mindset is required to actually believe he's ineligible when our entire government body believes that he is?
suggest Bob Holt read the information in the link provided...not spoon fed information from the Obama campaign.
LOL, you CRAZY F*CKING BIRTHERS!
However, a detailed investigation of the history and procedures used by Hawaii’s municipal health department, and its relationship with the newspapers, shows that not only was it a matter of official policy that Obama’s birth would have been announced in the paper regardless of where he was born, the information used to publish the announcements is not even confirmed through any eye-witness medical authority or hospital in the state.
Also, in 1961, the two newspapers shared the same address and facility which means they received only one copy of the same vital records information from the Department of Health. Therefore, the format and content of information used in public announcements were published identically by both papers, including any mistakes, omissions, order or context, and no investigation was carried out by the editors to determine if the information provided by the DOH was actually accurate. The two newspapers have long since merged into one organization.
Now, however, collaborative information from the archive of the U.S. Department of Health’s 1961 Report on Vital Statistics of the U.S – Volume 1: Natality, and Hawaii’s Administrative rules governing the creation of vital records finally reveals the truth about how these announcements were published and why they are mistakenly used by pundits to promote a misguided message about Obama's natal history.
The Daily Pen’s, Dan Crosby, engaged a two month long research project on location in Hawaii, to, once and for all, close the door on questions about the facts and bring the long-due invalidation of the authority of these fallow Hawaiian birth announcements, in quaint newspapers, to support Obama's eligibility to be president.
Here's a taste:
"Did anyone notice the announcements are not in any alphabetic order, or in order of birth date? This is because, in 1961, birth registration numbers were issued based on the location of the local Vital Records office in which the registration was recorded. The hospital does not assign these numbers, the DoH does. It appears that Obama’s birth was registered in an office not used by any of the birth registrations offices who received birth certification from either Kapi-olani Medical Center, or Queens Medical Center which use two local offices near those facilities," said Crosby.
He continued, "It appears Obama’s birth was registered with the satellite office near his grandparent’s home some distance from the offices nearest to and most used by the hospitals. This particular office was commonly used by indigenous people of Hawaii wanting to record births of children outside of the city. This is why the U.S. Department of Health created the Certificate of Live Birth template in 1959 with a check box indicating whether or not the child was born in the city limits and if the residence of the mother was a farm or not. It appears Obama’s birth at least did not occur in the city of Honolulu and, at most, did not even occur in the state of Hawaii."
This is good stuff -- continue reading here . . http://thedailypen.blogspot.com/2011/04/final-report-obamas-birth-announcements.html
But what has been proven in this unfortunate detour that is BO's possible hijacking of the executive branch, is that this, akin to "grooming a usurper who in fact BECOMES 'President,' " could even happen because a majority that is irresponsible, gullible and naive comprises (and compromises) our electorate. (U.S. enemies are noting this!) This illustrates perfectly what our founding fathers tried to prevent in setting a higher eligibility standard, "natural born," for presidential candidates. Do you think Nancy Pelosi vetted Obama with nothing but a rubber stamp and any more scrutiny than she applied to the Health Care Bill? ("You have to pass it to find out what's in it!" = You have to elect it before you find out it's not eligible. STAMP!)
Most birthers also would question the eligibility of Marco Rubio on account of his parents' possible non-citizen status. This is and never was about race, nor is it hypocritical. It is about loyalty and adherence to the Constitution, which to us is paramount.
In trying to understand the motivation of those who attack the "birthers," one can only surmise that they care more about themselves than this once-great country. In the end, you get what you deserve, and second-class world citizenship is now at your door. You ain't seen nothing yet!
That’s it. Simple, direct and to the point. Obama, as the son of a foreign national, is not a natural born citizen. As defined by the Supreme Court, he is not a 14th amendment citizen. As defined by statute, he might be a citizen, but only if he can prove he was born in the United States or if he was legally born out of wedlock. It’s time to get this peregrine out of the White House.
I've noticed that those supporting the constitution generally are conductiong a rational discussion while those defending Barry are calling names (birther first, than idiot, etc) and shouting.
I've heard Barry has a bunch of SS numbers.
Most of those I've encountered who don't believe Barry meets the constitutional requirements to be president are former Democrats.
I was nearly denied a passport back in 99 because my birth certificate from Colorado in 1972 was deemed insufficient proof of citizenship by the Passport Office in New York. There was no other document issued at my birth, so if I hadn't been able to locate an old passport issued to me when I was a small child, I may not have been able to prove my citizenship. Different places have issued different documents at different times. I love Dale Gribble, but seriously.
Chief Justice Waite is an authority:
"Before the Revolution, the view of the publicists had been thus put by Vattel:
The natives, or natural-born citizens, are those born in the country of parents who are citizens."
This does not include the children of an alien or aliens. This does not include illegals..Obama's father was an alien.
Obama is not a part of "our Posterity". Posterity is our descendants.
Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961--long before the government started handing out SSNs to new-borns. Then, at the age of 21 or so, he entered Yale Law School. A bit later, he got a Social Security card. Guess what? Yale is in Connecticut--and, therefore, so was Obama.
Also note: the official copy of my antique birth certificate is essentially similar to Obama's with respect to the information it recites--and my birth certificate has been accepted by anyone who asked as proof of my birth in the U.S., including by the State Department when I applied for a passport.
It's time for the Obama apologists and faithers to quit making excuses. Let's see an original, doctor-signed ... LEGAL birth certificate like the long-form that Trump showed.
It is doubtful Obama qualifies as a citizen based on the ruling in Wong Kim Ark. Obama gains citizenship from the 14th Amendment if he qualifies ..but he does not..meet the "subject to jurisdiction".
Any newspaper article..any reporter..any blogger..any citizen..who supports Obama molests the Constitution.
It would be like me quoting a random Birther and using his quote as a reason why Obama should not be president.
"Billy Bob said Obama is not a citizen so he can't be president!"
You do realize how incredibly ridiculous the above phrase sounds, right?
Please amend your post.
In Supreme Court rulings in individual cases, being born on any US soil, as long as the territory is within a taxed region (as opposed to a Native American reservation, for instance) were Natural-Born Citizen. It makes no mention as to the citizenship of the parents takes part in this definition.
So, you're wrong if you argue that Obama was born in the United States but was not a Natural-Born Citizen. Do you homework, I was able to pull and can cite over 30 individual court cases, including Supreme Court rulings, where ANY persons born upon US soil are considered Natural-Born Citizens within 10 minutes.
If you say otherwise, you just make yourself look lazy and ignorant (aka Republican?)
I don't care what Trump 'believes'.
I don't care what Hannity or Beck or Limbaugh 'believes'.
I want to KNOW if Obama is eligible to be the POTUS (he isn't - he told us that but nobody believed him as usual).
BOTH of the Certificates of Live Birth posted to two different sites on the Internet are forgeries. Which one of those forgeries did Pelosi use to support her TWO DIFFERENT certificates of eligibility she wrote, signed and had notarized.
What I really want to know is why nobody in Federal or State governments are doing anything about the fact that we have a usurper in the Oval Office? I just don't get it.
Obama is not a natural born citizen. His father was not a US Citizen. His father was not a loyal US Citizen.
John Bingham in the Congressional Globe, House of Representatives, 39th Congress, 1st Session 1866
Who are natural born citizens?
All persons born within the Republic, OF PARENTS OWING ALLEGIANCE TO NO OTHER SOVEREIGNTY, ARE NATURAL BORN CITIZENS.

Barack H Obama II was born in the USA to a US citizen mother and a British citizen so at birth he was a Native Born US/British Dual Citizen, his citizenship was affected by the British Nationality Act of 1948 and later by the 1963 Kenyan Constitution, therefore he is a US Citizen, but not a US Natural Born Citizen.
