President Barack Obama's supporters in the Hawaii legislature are looking to turn the questions about Obama's birthplace into a fund-raising opportunity. They have introduced a bill that would allow anyone to get a copy of his birth records for a $100 fee.
The idea behind the measure is to end skepticism over Obama's birthplace while raising a little money for a government with a projected budget deficit exceeding $800 million over the next two years.
The Associated Press reports the Obama campaign issued a certification of live birth in 2008, an official document from the state showing the president's Aug. 4, 1961, birth date, his birth city and name, and his parents' names and races.
Many Obama skeptics claim that he may have actually been born in Kenya, his father's home country, and not in the tropical state of Hawaii.
Elsewhere, Arizona Republican Judy Burges has introduced a bill that requires candidates to prove their eligibility to occupy the Oval Office.
Earlier this week a bid to prove he was born in the US by releasing the certificate was blocked by 'privacy laws.'
That forced Democratic Gov. Neil Abercrombie to abandon efforts to dispel claims that Obama was born outside Hawaii, according to his office.
Abercrombie, who was a friend of Obama's parents and knew him as a child, launched an investigation last month into whether he can release more information about the president's Aug. 4, 1961 birth.
According to Yahoo News, state Attorney General David Louie told the governor that privacy laws bar him from disclosing an individual's birth documentation without the person's consent, Abercrombie spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said.
The $100 fee bill would change the privacy law which bar the release of birth records unless the requester is someone with a tangible interest, such as a close family member.
According to Mail Online, the controversy stems from the Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, which states, 'No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.'
Hawaii's health director said in 2008 and 2009 that she had seen and verified Obama's original vital records, and birth notices in two Honolulu newspapers were published within days of Obama's birth at Kapiolani Maternity and Gynecological Hospital in Honolulu.
Health Department spokeswoman Janice Okubo again confirmed last week that Obama's name is found in its alphabetical list of names of people born in Hawaii, maintained in bound copies available for public view.
Currently, Title 8 of the U.S. Code fills in the gaps left by the Constitution. Section 1401 defines the following as people who are "citizens of the United States at birth:"
* Anyone born inside the United States *
* Any Indian or Eskimo born in the United States, provided being a citizen of the U.S. does not impair the person's status as a citizen of the tribe
* Any one born outside the United States, both of whose parents are citizens of the U.S., as long as one parent has lived in the U.S.
* Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year and the other parent is a U.S. national
* Any one born in a U.S. possession, if one parent is a citizen and lived in the U.S. for at least one year
* Any one found in the U.S. under the age of five, whose parentage cannot be determined, as long as proof of non-citizenship is not provided by age 21
* Any one born outside the United States, if one parent is an alien and as long as the other parent is a citizen of the U.S. who lived in the U.S. for at least five years (with military and diplomatic service included in this time)
* A final, historical condition: a person born before 5/24/1934 of an alien father and a U.S. citizen mother who has lived in the U.S.
Is it just possible that everyone's confusion about the President's birth certificate stems from the fact that they just haven't had very much education?
The controversy over ARTHUR'S FATHER just being a NATURALIZED CITIZEN and not a SOIL BORN CITIZEN caused such an uproar that it is said that this was the reason that ARTHUR DID NOT RUN FOR PRESIDENT.
Not Fox News nor any major right winged pundit dares even discuss anything about Obama's eligibility factors lest they be lumped with "Birthers" who are now just ridiculed as Racist and kooks.
He really really is not eligible to have ever been put on the ballot. But Obama is a puppet ...I just wonder about the power of his puppet master.
That is does aka Obama or what ever his name is meet the constitutional requirements for POTUS regradless of where he was born? Furthermore if so then why all the cover up by aka Obama? Did not Water Gate teach us that the Cover Up some times is even the biger crime!
The congress must act to resolve this distraction at once. If necessary we can weather yet another replacement of a POTUS. After all we are a nation that subscribes to the rule of law and not men.

The 2007 Certification doesn't mention Kapiolani. The newspaper articles don't mention Kapoilani. I bet Kapiolani isn't mentioned in that "list" of people born in Hawaii, either. Because he wasn't born at Kapiolani. Or in Hawaii.
Besides, Obozo has been the best thing to happen to the GOP since Jimmy Carter!

The Gov. has backed off saying he saw "Barry" as a new born and has since told his friend Mike Evans that his first memory of Barack is of him playing t-ball while he watched with his father . This is impossible since Barack sr left the island for good before his t-ball years . Barack was also in Indonesia during his t-ball years.
The President could and should put an end to all of this by agreeing to release all of his records that he has fought to keep sealed .
1. US Natural Born Citizens are children:
a. conceived of two lawfully married parents, and
i. the parents were legally married at the date and time of birth, and
ii. the child was born in the United States, and
b. the child is a legitimate child, not produced by
i. artificial insemination, or
ii. test-tube, or
iii. Petri dish, or
iv. surrogate mother, or
v. genetic-splicing, and
c. the child is not
i. a stepchild or
ii. adopted, and
d. the child is a direct-blood descendant of two US citizens who at the date and time of the child’s birth were:
i. two US Citizens (per the Fourteenth Amendment), or
ii. two US Natural Born Citizens (described above), or
iii. a US Citizen (per the Fourteenth Amendment), married to a US Natural Born Citizen.
