An Arctic cold front is on the move this morning with scattered rain and snow showers along with crashing temperatures.
Today's high temperatures have basically come and gone with highs in the 40's and 50's this morning, however behind the Arctic cold front temperatures are and will continue to fall through the 40's, 30's, and 20's. In addition to the brutally cold temperatures, winds will remain strong from the west and northwest at 15 to 30 mph with gusts over 40 mph. The combination of the strong winds and falling temperatures will lead to wind chills in the 20's and 10's by this afternoon.
Arctic high pressure will take hold tonight and remain in control through Monday with tranquil weather conditions. While the winds will subside, the cold temperatures will not leave so quickly. Temperatures will range from the single digits to upper 10's for lows and mid 20's to mid 30's for highs through the forecast period.
A cold front will move through on Tuesday with scattered rain and snow showers followed by another arctic high pressure system. The middle of next week will remain quiet yet chilly. Temperatures will range from the upper 10's to mid 20's for lows and mid to upper 30's for highs on Tuesday. Temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will range from the mid 10's to mid 20's for lows and upper 20's to upper 30's for highs.
