One of the newest trending topics on Twitter recently was “Error 3200.” That notification was seen by many of the millions of Apple users trying to upgrade to the new iOS 5 system.

According to Beatweek Magazine, Apple has received complaints for the download and install errors which came from too many users downloading iOS 5 at the same time. Error 3200 was seen the most times, along with Error 20, Error 1600, but no explanation of the problem was offered. Oddly, Blackberry outages were happening worldwide at the same time as the downloading confusion.

One user told nvonews.com, “After two hours of downloading, I reached 600MB complete, when it gave an error about the network connection timing out. I then spent another two hours downloading because iTunes doesn’t let you resume a download halfway through. I did manage to download it, but when I tried to install though, it stayed over an hour on the backup stage, then restarted it 2/3rd’s of the way through. iCloud won’t backup, and Find my Friends refuses to sign in.”

CNET mentioned that Apple has seen these problems before. When iOS 4 was upgraded to iOS 4.0.1 last year, many people had problems installing the update.

The International Business Times explains how you should be able to upgrade to iOS 5 for free:

1) You want to update to iTunes 10.5 by clicking "Check for Updates" in the iTunes menu.

2) When you plug in your iPhone, iTunes should prompt you to download iOS 5. If it doesn’t, select your device and check for updates again.

3) Click "Download and Update" iOS 5 will download, then follow prompts.

4) Enable your location services, and then enter your Apple ID log in information and complete set up your iCloud account.

To this point, most users who experienced problems in downloading the iOS 5 initially said that it was worth the wait.
