iOS 5 update opens world to Steve Jobs’ iCloud

During his last public appearance in June, Steve Jobs announced the coming of iCloud, a system that would allow users to store their information on Apple's own servers.

Apple supporters are able to get the new iOS 5 Wednesday, which contains the iCloud feature. ABC News reports that iOS 5 offers 200 new features. Included are one that combines all of your notifications into one list, along with iMessaging, a “reader” feature on Safari that gives users more room to read, the ability to take photos, and Twitter.

According to the International Business Times, another option will be Siri, which allows handsets to turn voice commands into actions. Also, wireless syncing lets a user back up the device’s content to a Mac or PC when it uses the same WiFi connection.

And when users adapted iOS 5, the iCloud will make them independent of their computer as it backs up and syncs all information automatically with the user's other laptops and iDevices.

Christian Post reports that a new assistance site for using iCloud can be found here. It includes iCloud basics, Mail, Contacts, Calendar and Find My iPhone.
