Do you enjoy the snooze button on your alarm clock because it gives you that extra 10 minutes to doze before you get up to face your day?

Well, a new clock invented by a man from Hoboken says it’s time for you to get out of bed, and it’s not taking no for an answer.

The Ramos Clock was invented by 25-year-old engineer Paul Sammut from Hoboken. Sammut designed his clock’s wake-up call to sound like the ding-ding of the front desk bell at a hotel. And according to nj1015.com, the only way you can only stop the noise is by getting out of bed and punching the day’s date into a keypad. You can also enter a four-digit code in the Defuse Panel, which exercises your brain immediately to help you to wake up.

Sammut began his invention because he had trouble getting up and going to work after college. “Now I wake up before it goes off,” he said. “I subconsciously fear it and know I have to get up.”

According to Kickstarter, the Ramos clocks all feature time setting by a knob, battery backup, an auto-dimmer, and a courtesy mode, where the alarm stops after 10 seconds out of courtesy to anyone else in the bedroom. But after the 10 seconds are over, the alarm begins blaring again.

And the clock has a lockdown mode, in case you wake up before the alarm sounds. Lockdown mode occurs 30 minutes before the alarm is set to ring, and the clock won’t accept any changes until it has been deactivated.

The clocks come in LED, Nixie Ramos, and Ramos Custom. At the custom level, Sammut will build the clock to your own specifications made of of your choice of hardwoods and finishes. The LED starts at $200.

The early reviews are good. Gizmodo says, "There are countless alarms that go the extra mile to get you out of bed in the morning, but none go quite as far, or look as slick, as the Ramos." Ohgizmo commented, "There are many alarms on the market that try to tackle this issue and the Ramos Alarm Clock is one of the better ones."

Paulsammut.com says that Sammut put his project on Kickstarter for funding, and received $153,585 for a goal of $75,000. The funding project ended April 1, but clocks are still available for pre-order here.
