Gov. Chris Christie will take political trips to Missouri, California and Louisiana next week and the public and news media know it because the New Jersey Republican Committee made it public on Friday.

The highlight of the trip will come Tuesday when Christie delivers the keynote address at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library’s Perspectives on Leadership Forum in Simi Valley, Calif.

The governor will be in Missouri on Monday and Tuesday, California on Tuesday and Wednesday and Louisiana on Thursday and the swing will include four fund-raising events for the benefit of the New Jersey Republican Party.

"Governor Christie's strong and refreshing approach to solving the challenging issues facing New Jersey has earned him support from voters across New Jersey and America," Rick Gorka, the New Jersey GOP spokesman, said. "The governor is also the leader of the New Jersey Republican Party and in that capacity he is raising the necessary funds for Republicans to be successful in the upcoming elections."

All of the events except the Reagan Library speech, are closed to the news media.

The announcement of Christie’s trip follows heavy news media criticism of him after it was revealed earlier this month that he slipped out of the state on June 26 to make the main address at a conservative Republican fund-raising event in Vail, Colorado without telling the public or media he was going.

On Monday, Christie will host a New Jersey Republican Party fund-raising luncheon at 12:00 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton in Clayton. At 5 p.m., the governor will appear at a Missouri Republican Party fund-raising event at a private residence. The name of the people who live there or the town were not disclosed.

On Tuesday, Christie will appear at an 8 a.m. fund-raising breakfast for congressional candidate Ann Wagner for Congress at the Sheraton Clayton Plaza Hotel in Clayton.

The governor will then fly to Santa Ana, Calif. where he will host another New Jersey Republican Party fund-raiser at 12:00 p.m. at Morton’s The Restaurant in South Coast Plaza Village. At 6 p.m., the governor will speak at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Library.
