One interesting fact to point out...the majority of horses that HRU has saved are actually under the age of 14, and many of those were under the age of 7 or 8. Many of these horses were surrendered to us by concerned owners or trainers who didn't want their horses to end up in the auction and slaughter pipeline. We hope to help as many horses as we can while running a responsible rescue and are pleased to have placed over 30 horses in loving homes in the past year.
