NJ Minimum Wage

Raising the minimum wage only transfers money from business owners to employees, thus it does not create wealth, increase spending within the State, nor help the economy. As a small business owner, it means I will have less to spend on my business, and I may need to lay off one of my 7 employees. The restaurant industry may be the largest employer paying minimum wages in the State. Those employees that may have pocketed some cash tips will now be paying higher taxes and thus have less discretionary money to spend. Business owners pay employees what they can afford based upon sales, and with little to no sales growth and increased labor costs, this will result in more small businesses closing. VERY BAD IDEA.
