No one has been able to match all the winning numbers in a Powerball drawing since late April, so the Powerball jackpot for Saturday night now stands at a cool $120 million with a cash option of $62.6 million.
Powerball and Mega Millions both have seen their jackpots rise above $100 million already this year. But some of our state’s residents have found their luck playing Jersey Cash 5 so far, particularly in Middlesex County. NewJerseyNewsroom.com reported that a winning ticket worth $265,429 was sold at Southwood Pharmacy West in Middlesex for the drawing of Monday, April 25.
And according to lottery.com, a winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket worth $149,940 was sold at Espinosa Market, located at 725 State Street in Perth Amboy, Middlesex County for the Thursday, January 13 drawing. New Jersey Lottery Executive Director Carole Hedinger said Espinosa’s received $750 for selling the winning ticket.

Other people just seem to have that kind of luck with them all the time. Not that far from here, a Maryland player, Joe Vaeth, Jr., has won $50,000 three years in a row in Pick 4. And Lotterypost.com reports that Vaeth just won $1 million playing Mega Millions this past Wednesday.
Vaeth claims that his luck comes from positive thinking. Many of our longer-term lottery players are positive that we hate him, but we’ll keep hoping for our turn anyway.
And a win for New Jersey may come in a Powerball drawing. It happened not all that long ago. Lottery Post reported that the third largest single-ticket lottery winner in New Jersey, Sandra McNeil, came from Morristown, N.J. She won the $211.7 million Powerball drawing of March 13, 2010.
