On August 30, prior to the New York Red Bulls match against the Columbus Crew, the soccer teams that represent the FDNY and NYPD will participate in the first Annual Mayor's Cup for charity. The match will kick off at 2 p.m. at Giants Stadium with the Red Bulls and Crew match to follow at 6 p.m..
The goal of the Mayor's Cup is to raise funds for worthy charities and to begin a tradition similar to the annual FDNY vs. NYPD Hockey match, which has been well supported over the years.
A portion of every ticket sold will go toward the NYC PBA Widow's and Children's Fund and the FF Sergio Villanueva Soccer Foundation.
