Apple iPhone 5 release date rumors: Faster, stronger features

The iPad 3, or new iPad, has just hit the market, and the rumor mill has been firing up about the release of the long-awaited iPhone 5, or whatever Apple cares to call it.

The International Business Times reports that a Foxconn recruiter told TVTokyo program "World Business Satellite" that Apple's next iPhone is going to be released in June. According to the recruiter, Foxconn is hiring about 18,000 more workers to step up its production.

In March, Reuters said Apple would present the phone "around the second quarter" of 2012. But Japanese blog Macotakara, said Apple would release the iPhone 5 in September or October.

Northern Voices Online believes that the iPhone 5 will be released June 15, 2012 at the Worldwide Developers Conference. They are saying that Apple plans to release the next version of its mobile OS on the first day of the conference, according to some sources. That may be iOS 6, which should run the new iPhone 5.

Apple iPhone 5 rumors start: All glass design?

Foxconn sources believed the iPhone 5 would retain the rectangular shape of the previous models, and the screen might be a little bigger. But TechRadar reports that the new phone will be a completely new design with an entirely new casing. They also mentioned reports from March indicating that the new iPhone 5 would come with a 4.6-inch retina display.

The next phone is expected to have 4G LTE connectivity, but that has not been confirmed. If it does, the speed would be about ten times faster than the current 3GE network. Most recent Android phones contain 4G LTE.

According to the International Business Times, Apple's next iPhone may include the "iWallet," a digital system with Near-Field Communication technology, which allows users to complete credit card transactions over the phone. The iPhone 5 might also be the first phone to feature software for multi-player gaming.

And Apple has received a patent for crack-resistant glass, which reaches greater compression levels on the surface and edges of the glass.

I think that the new iPhone will be a completely redesigned phone. Since it was the last project that the late Steve Jobs worked on before his passing, you can bet that there will be a shock-value that comes with the new iPhone's release. I'm thinking there will be a few things that no one expects, but I expect to see a new mapping system, better Siri implementation (also for the new iPad), a bigger display (somewhere around 4 inches while maintaining the same aspect ratio & 326 ppi pixel density), multi-finger gestures for the iPhone, improved camera, A5X or MAYBE A6 processor, 4G LTE and a completely new exterior design. I just think that Apple will be bringing the big guns to WWDC and plans to make it tough on Samsung, Nokia, and HTC. Keeping things the way that they are now will definitely not accomplish this.

While Apple hold all the cards I believe that hammering the last nail into RIM's coffin will play some part in dictating the appropriate release date. The closer to Q3 the less attention will be paid to BB10 when it finally launches.

Speculation that's all anyone can do at this point and the features are going feed of the new iPad (3rd gen) features. Yes bigger screen size, LTE (without sacrificing battery life), 10-12 MB pixel camera, Siri/Voice dictation, perhaps models; 32gb, 64gb, 128gb (maybe) but based on how flash memory is prevalent and users demand more memory for media content. Now, the whole iPhone 5 (or the new iPhone) conversation is put to rest until June or October, I feel like October because they're milking iPhone 4s revenues, until 4th quarter than production will start, great timing too... Christmas time... Do you see where I'm going with this..?

One, it's not the iPhone 5, it's the next iPhone. And two, Apple never releases products months after they are announced, it's usually two weeks afterwards. And there will be NFC for the so called iWallet to exist along with multiplayer apps over LTE and Wifi. It will be 2 mm smaller than the current iPhone in height and will not have a 4.6 inch display.. at most it will feature a low power dual core cpu and a imagination technologies vseries 6 chip along with a qualcomm gobi 5 series lte/ hspa worldwide module and a nano http://iphone5live.com sim card slot. Not to mention that lte uses more power so a bigger battery and that means more room to put a better front facing camera that doesn't suck as much, and an improved display that uses less power from toshiba at around 3.7 inches. On the ram side, it should range from 768 mb to 1gb and run at 410 hz, do you know anything about technology sir? do you even know what a gigabite is? Because they just bought a flash company to put flash hard drives on their ipod classic and retina displays. the next iPhone will not have google maps also. just pointing that out.

That wasn't a dumb statement at all. There are rumors that Apple will be dropping the numbered nameplate for it's Iphone - just like they did for the Ipod.

Research a statement before challenging it.
