Judgment Day: Harold Camping’s new date for end of the world could have twist

BY BOB HOLT
NEWJERSEYNEWSROOM.COM

Harold Camping has chosen a new date, and he really means it this time. The president of Family Radio now says the world will end on October 21, 2011.

Admittedly, anyone can make a little mistake. But aside from last week, Camping had previously predicted judgment days of May 21, 1988, and September 7, 1994.

So Richard Myers, the administrator of abibleanswer.org, has decided to make the most of the situation with a possible twist for Camping this time. His group has offered Family Radio $1 million to purchase its entire network of 66 stations across the U.S., effective on October 22.

The Christian Post reports Myers said he is asking for Camping’s removal from the Family Radio board of directors and wants the stations to discontinue airing his teachings.

A Bible Answer originally made the $1 million bid for Family Stations in February, three months before Camping's predicted May 21 Rapture date. At that time, the ministry offered to take over the stations beginning May 22 and said it was actually "paying much more than the station is worth since it will have no value in less than three months."

Meanwhile, the Daily Record reports Camping apologized Monday evening for not having his dates “worked out as accurately as I could have.” He claims that a Rapture did actually happen on May 21, only it was spiritual, instead of physical.

According to Radio Survivor, he said, “The fact is, when we look at it spiritually, we find that he did come.”

I have no problem when someone says that they think that one date or perhaps another date may be Judgment Day. Because any date could become that date. As Christians, Jesus instructs us to be prepared all of the time for his return! At least Mr. Camping did alert us to examine that aspect of our faith.

When a chain becomes broken, you have to wonder about the integrity of the other links.
One problem with Mr. Camping is with his judgment on my soul. He clearly stated multiple times on his programs that those that don’t believe that May 21, 2011 is Judgment Day, they will not be saved. “Fool proof facts from the Bible!” Obviously he was wrong again, and he is wrong to place judgment on our souls! (Note: Harold is now 0-2.)

This particular false prediction also sheds light on many of his other false teachings, including his misinterpretations regarding the sacraments, the Trinity of God, that the devil is ruling God’s churches, that Jesus appearance during the New Testament was merely a demonstration of something that happened before God created the world, (sort of like a movie rerun), his theory and definition of “The Elect,” and his theory on hell. He cannot explain 1 Peter 3 beginning at verse 18. All of the other theories still need to be sorted out by his group and to learn the truth!

Since May 21 turned out to NOT be the date it should be noted that Judgment Day WILL come and could be any date that God chooses. Just because Harold Camping somehow has once again used his calculator, do you now really believe it will happen on October 21, 2011?

Yes Harold Camping was wrong. Very certain yet totally wrong. And for this he was decried by Christians, sometimes using raucous, obscene and threatening language.

But Christians, don’t you ever look in the mirror? If you did, you would see someone very like Harold Camping. You believe slightly different things from Harold but things equally as absurd and unevidenced. If Harold had not made his ill-judged prediction, he would just be another anonymous Christian.

If you think you are better than Harold, tell me one supernatural thing you believe and give me just one valid reason you believe it to be true. Go on, I dare you!

And, if you are not confident you can do that, take another look in the mirror—you’ll see Harold Camping looking back at you.

I've often wondered why so many people believe the Christian myths when there is so little evidence that they are true and NO evidence that any gods exist. Surely it cannot be that Christians are under-educated, irrational and semi-literate can it? But then I read these comments posted here by Christians:

"F*ck you"

"your going to hell you piece of crap"

"Ahhhh Your All Stupid"

"THE devil IS A GREAT DECEIVER. DON'T BE DECEIVE."

"Your an idiot harold camping you think your all cool but your not even close you made people kill there selves your should be killed for that."

"Because of the great passion of the Spirit through the storms to reach humans and the loss that so many are feeling, for they are being reached even to the heart."

"you have scared people and at least one person ive read about hung themself because they were so scared of your (false) prediction."

Oh well, perhaps I may have found the reason... at least for some of them.

Sorry to inform you but Jesus isn't coming back. It doesn't make any difference what it says in the bible because the bible is a work of fiction, just like the book of Mormon, the Quran the Vedas and every other so-called sacred text. Camping is just giving his own interpretation but his version is no more ridiculous than mainstream Christianity. It's all mythology.

No one can predict the end of times. All you have to do is open up your Bible and see for yourselves. Luke 21:5-37 states them all, from the the deceiver like Harold Camping to being persecuted as followers of Christ.
READ YOUR BIBLE . GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT AND DON'T LISTEN TO MAN. THE devil IS A GREAT DECEIVER. DON'T BE DECEIVE.

Mr. Camping says he made a mathematical error. I think Harold's mother made a genetic error. She shouldn't have mated with the water buffalo.

Too much maths, too much attention seeking, too little faith and genuine christian qualities and zero benefit for anyone who really wants to do what God expects of us. If God warns us of an upcoming end, there will be signs ( and they are obviously there), but it isn't up to me or you or "good old Harold" to do lot of maths and then step foreward and claim we know the time and the hour...the warning is out and we sure live in difficuilt times, times of the end

The Storms and the Passion to Reach You (all humans)
Because of the great passion of the Spirit through the storms to reach humans and the loss that so many are feeling, for they are being reached even to the heart. So many will be asking the right questions and asking their life those questions.

But remember, many will come in Jesus's name saying Jesus is the way (like Harold Camping) but do not believe them. For it was the Spirit that was speaking through Jesus and it is the Spirit that says do not believe them for the Spirit comes (many times) in the moment that You do not expect it.
Therefore it is best to break Your heart, for the one (true Spirit) that will take it away.

Even after seeing the Spirit through synchronicity for ten years and each time they misunderstood and then found out through the smallest of points overlooked that they misunderstood, even so, the forums which were the intention to reach You rejected the Spirit. So the Spirit will reach You without words.dnatree.us blog

Before You misunderstand too, seek to know the True intentions of the heart by getting to know me. And then forget me as I decrease and the Spirit increases in Your moments.

Your moments in wonder, reveal the true intentions of the heart.
When You see what the Spirit has done, You will see how the Spirit can make Harold Camping right because of what is happened May 20th and how the Spirit will not speak with words now as words are always misunderstood.

Truth reigns. True, Jacob was not Esau and it seems wrong that Rebecca & Jacob pretended he was to get a blessing. But the truth is that the future would hold together as Jacob not as Esau. And we are here today to see that truth. This is also true with false dates of 1874 saying it was 6000 years. Without it there was no incentive to bring Christ forth to save the world. Ussher's 1996 had no media like year 2000 did, and NOTHING was done that would save the world in 2000. Yet what has grown from the false 6000 in 1874 became strong truth by 1975 as the true 6000. So finally the question is how does a lie of a 4990bc Flood save anyone in 2011. It doesn't. The lies don't work anymore, we know too much. 2011 is thrise 365 leap days (1460 years) since the true Flood 2370bc. This matches 365-day calendar to Julian calendar including Noahs 40 days. Anf oddly, Jesus packing up his life into an ark for 7 days on Palm Sunday to be raptured 40 days on Easter Sunday in April has the exact same dates as 2370bc-910bc-551 AD and 2011. That is a hell of alot more evidence than Camping who says Noah's grandson was born not 2 years after the Flood but 502 years after it.

I have seen a lot of negative comments about Harold Camping. This is unfortunate. Yes, Harold has incorrectly predicted the Rapture several times. But guess what? Each time he receives millions of dollars in contributions and ends up with more followers than he had before the prediction.

So if Harold makes money, increases his flock and becomes increasingly famous, what's he doing wrong?

The question is, why do people not see him for the fraud that he so obviously is? Answer, because so many people rely on faith as a way to distinguish truth from falsity. But faith has zero epistemological value. Faith allows you to believe ANYTHING at all. It allows you to believe what you'd LIKE to believe but does not help you determine what is actually true. That is why it is worthless. That is why it makes millions so gullible that they will believe in talking snakes, virgin births, resurrection and Harold Camping. Sad really.

No one can know the exact time of the end, but we can know if we are in the times of the end, which even scientists have agree'd on.

Herald Camping might have a pure heart, and maybe, or he obviously truly believed in this and I would like to think that God loves him to and God will show him the way and God tells us clearly in the bible that even his own children will be deceived in the end.

That does not mean that when those people realize they have been deceived that God will no longer have a place for them! Let us not have hate in our hearts. That is not how God would act.

Harold Camping sounds like he plagiarized Jehovah's Witnesses.
Jehovah Witnesses are a spin-off of the second Adventist which all came from the Millerite movement.American war of 1812 army captain William Miller is ground zero for Jehovah's Witnesses.
Yes,the "great disappointment" of Oct 22 1844 has never died out... it lives on in the Jehovah's Witnesses.
The central CORE doctrine of the Watchtower, yes the reason the Watchtower came into existence was to declare Jesus second coming in 1914.When the prophecy (derived from William Miller of 1842) failed they said that he came "invisibly".
Watchtower reckless predictions of the (1914) (1975)..... second coming of Christ hardens skeptics in their unbelief and provides new fodder for cynics to mock the Christian faith.
