Governor Christie is finalizing details of a dinner sit-down with Josh Brolin-playing-George-Bush- look-a-like and Republican Presidential candidate, Texas Gov. Rick Perry. This is pretty much protocol for any outside politician breezing through N.J.; that is, they must first sit down with Gov. Tony Soprano. Perhaps the two can discuss which one of them is ravaging their state the most at the behest of their Koch Bros. corporate masters.
A New Jersey Newsroom report recently revealed that KochWatch.org, a Washington-based website that tracks the actions of billionaire conservative Republican power-brokers David and Charles Koch, recently asked Gov. Chris Christie’s office for all records related to his secret trip to Vail, Colorado on June 26 to give the main address at a political gathering hosted by the brothers. So the quid pro quo possibilities for the two power-starved corporate puppets are limitless, and surely they'll discuss all of the wonderful political goodies they've received from the duplicitous Koch. Bros in exchange for doing their corporate bidding.
Christie, although not running for president, has positioned himself as major power-player in the GOP, and candidates will have to break bread with him on his terms if they wish to be competitive in New Jersey, a state that many GOP pollsters says is increasingly in play for Republicans.
Christie, who has already met with former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, another GOP front-runner, claims close personal ties to Perry
“I know Rick well,” Christie said.
So what sordid arrangements will the two discuss over their dinner? After all, Chris Christie is a product of the Karl Rove-era of junkyard power politics.
