Right after last year’s White House Correspondents Dinner marked the killing of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
President Barack Obama remembered the occasion at this year’s sold-out event at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC. Sort of.
“We gather during a historic anniversary. This weekend last year, we finally delivered justice to one of the world’s most notorious individuals,” Obama said, according to myfox8.com. The accompanying photo shown was that of real estate mogul Donald Trump. Something about a birth certificate.
This year’s event featured a 30-minute monolgue by late night host Jimmy Kimmel. POLITICO.com reported that Kimmel did not spare Obama from his jokes. He said: "I know you won't be able to laugh at my jokes about the Secret Service. Please cover your ears, if that's physically possible."
"There's a term for guys like President Obama," Kimmel also said, according to Fox News. "Probably not two terms."
