Nearly eight months after the storm, and 5 months since the school shooting, “Sandy” sure has made a mark in the year 2012.
Both Hurricane Sandy and the mass killing at Sandy Hook Elementary school has impacted the lives of many, and New Jersey has found a way to commemorate the two.
There will be 26 playgrounds built in the tri-state area (New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut) in honor of those students and staff who lost their lives that December morning in Newtown, Ct.
The New Jersey's Firefighter's Mutual Benevolent Association recently chose Sea Bright, NJ as a playground location because this was an area heavily destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
This newly opened playground is the first of many in the Garden State. However like this location, they too will be built in communities affected by Hurricane Sandy.
