2011 NFL Draft: Miami Dolphins analysis and prediction

WHERE THEY NEED HELP: Quarterback, Running back, center

ANALYSIS: The Dolphins have soured on quarterback Chad Henne’s decision making on the field, even if he has all the physical skills you want as a quarterback. If Ryan Mallet is there when the Dolphins pick 15, he may be taken, and the Dolphins more immediate needs will be addressed later in the draft. However, to have a good passing game, you need to be able to run the ball, and in 2010, the Dolphins couldn’t. They averaged on 3.7 yards per carry, which was 30th in the NFL, and only rushed for 102.7 yards per game. They need better interior line play, and they need fresh legs at running back. If they address the offensive line, Florida’s Mike Pouncey can play guard or center, and would start from day one for the Dolphins. If Miami addresses the running game in the first round, the best running back in this year’s draft is 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram

WHAT THEY SHOULD DO: Fix the running game, draft Ingram

WHERE THEY ARE EXPECTED TO USE THE FIRST PICK: Marl Ingram, running back Alabama.
