2011 NFL Draft: Detroit Lions analysis and predictions

WHERE THEY NEED HELP: Linebacker, cornerback, offensive tackle

ANALYSIS: Providing they are healthy, the Lions are set at the skill positions with quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Jahvid Best and wide receiver Calvin Johnson. The Lions are looking to overhaul their linebacking corps, but drafting any linebacker early in the first round other than Von Miller would be reach at this pick. If the Cowboys and Texans pass on Amukamara, the Lions should grab him with the 13th pick as that would address a need. If he is gone, then address the offensive line with Anthony Castonzo or Tyron Smith. In two years, Stafford has gotten hit hard to many times. They need to protect him better and keep him on the field.

WHAT THEY SHOULD DO: If Amukmara is there take him, if not take either Costanzo of Boston College or Tyron Smith, offensive tackle U.S.C.

WHERE THEY ARE EXPECTED TO USE THE FIRST PICK: Anthony Castonzo, Boston College
